Ancestor Files Research Center
The Research Center and Library is located in Chambers Co., AL on the outskirts of Lanett. We are on the GA/AL line and just off Hwy 85. Since I have a full time job also the library is open by appointment only. We have a large selection of material on Alabama and Georgia, with collection on Heard Co., Ga.; Chambers Co., Ala.; Randolph Co., Ala.; and Troup Co., Ga. We also maintain files on Chambers, Randolph and Heard Co. with census records, cemetery records and any information that may pertain to a family surname in any of these three Counties. We invite anyone who wants to place a query in a surname files to send their query and the copy will be place in the file for others who use the files to be able to contact you about your family lines. There are no fees for use of the library or to place any information in the files. We hope to build a good base of information on these counties so that none will be lost, and that all may benefit. We do have a copier available if needed. We have a good selection of periodicals in the library also. And try to have coverage on all the counties in Alabama and Georgia surrounding the three major ones covered. If you have any questions please let me know and I will try to answer them.
