James A. Hankins estate orders

 

The State of Alabama Marion County

Court of Probate Special Term begun and held for said county the 22nd day of September AD 1855 --

It is hereby ordered that Wm. B. Taylor, James Estill, and Harbert Suggs, Be, and they are hereby nominated and appointed appraisers of all the singular the goods and chattls rights and credits of James A. Hankins, late of this county Dec'd that they make and return their appraisal to a term of this court to be held the third Monday in November 1855.

It appearing to the satisfaction of the court from the petition of John M. Hankins Adm of Jas. A. Hankins, Dec'd, that is nec'y and proper to make sale of the personal property of the estate of the said Jas. A. Hankins, Dec'd --

It is therefore ordered that John M. Hankins, Adm of estate, be and he is hereby authorized and required to make sale of all the personal property belonging to the estate of Jas. A. Hankins Dec'd on a credit of twelve months at such time and place as he may select (with the exception of such items of property as is under the statute exempt to the widow) taking [??] with at least two good and sufficient security in all cases and that the said J. M. Hankins return to this an account of the sale had under this order, to this court on the third Monday of Nov. next.

James Estill – relationship to the Deceased, if any, unknown;

Harbert Suggs – relationship to the Deceased, if any, unknown;

John D. Trull, Judge – relationship to the Deceased, if any, unknown;

John M. (J. M.) Hankins: John Miller Hankins, c. 1807–bef. 1866, Deceased’s father]
