1892 Business High School Graduates

This was the first commencement exercise for Business High, graduating thirty-five students. The purpose of establishing Business High was two-fold. First, it relieved the pressure on Central High's burgeoning population. Second, it created a course of study for those unable to take the longer courses. Commencement Program:

Presiding Official: Hon. John T. Mitchell, President of the School Board.
Invocation: Rev Charles A. Stakely, Pastor, First Baptist Church.
Address to the Graduating Class: Isadore Saks, Banker & President, Saks & Co.
Valedictory: R. G. Donaldson.
Presentation of Diplomas: Commissioner Ross.
Music: Marine Corps Band.
