BAROUSSE-McCLELLAND WEDDING

The Church Point Democrat March 7, 1908

At the Cahtolic Church last Sunday evening at about 4:30 one of the prettiest weddings of the season was solemnized.  The contracting parties being Miss Lilly Barousse and Mr. Robert McClelland; Father A.F. Rogers performing the ceremony, after which he gave a fine sermon filed with good advice and well wishes.

After the ceremony the bridal pair went to the home of the bride’s parents, and in company of a few intimate friends, a fine dinner was spread and all feasted. Mr. and Mrs. McClelland left for their home in St. Landry Monday.

Miss Barousse is the daughter of our Honorable Senator and Merchant Homer Barousse, and enjoys the admiration and well wishes of the whole community.

Mr. McClelland is a son of Joseph McClelland, a merchant and farmer of St. Landry parish.  He is a young man of sterling qualities, and is destined to rise high in the world.
