Petition to be released from bond

Alex. W. Smith, Hyp. Meche, Honore Meche, J.B. Lege and Leon Thibodeaux respectfully represent that in the case of the State of Louisiana vs. Alexandre Smith, in District Court, the defendant gave bond with his co-petitioners, in solido, in the sum of $1,000., conditioning according to law that the same bond was forfeited, co-petitioners have paid $500. on the same, and that at the last term of the District Court, the said Alexander W. Smith was convicted and sentenced to 3 years at hard labor in the penitentiary, and that he is now serving out said sentence.
