AUTO – BUGGY ACCIDENT
Crowley Signal, April
15, 1922
Special to the Signal. Church Point, Louisiana
While returning from the mission with his wife and child,
Tuesday night Mr. Marius Thibodeaux’s buggy was struck by Ford car driven by an
unidentified party. The accident happened near the city limits. According to
Mr. Thibodeaux, he heard a car coming in the rear but before he had a chance to
get out of the way the car struck the rear wheel of his buggy, turned the buggy
over, slightly injured his wife and child, and damaging the vehicle
considerably. Several hundred feet from where the accident happened, the car
ran into the ditch and turned over. The driver succeeded in getting out of the
car before anyone could get to him and escape. It was learned that the car
belonged to a Mr. Fontenot and had been stolen during the mission.
No trace of the culprit has been found.
