Are there "missing" census records for
Skowhegan, Bloomfield and Canaan?
On the 8th of March, 1837, an Act of the Legislature of
Maine passed in which a Special Maine State Census or enumeration of the
inhabitants of Maine was to be taken. The incorporated towns were
to be done at the local level. David Colby Young is posting these
census records on-line as he finds them at:

You may notice that Skowhegan, Bloomfield and Canaan are not listed
on this page. That's because David Young has not been able to locate
the records for these towns. If you know where these records are,
please contact either the Skowhegan Coordinator, Abby Balderama or David C. Young.
