The land was originally purchased as a cemetery for the town of Lismore, MN, a few miles East. However, land was purchased closer to Lismore and the cemetery remained unused for burials for almost 100 years. The first buriel in the cemetery took place in 1893. From 1896 until 1994, there were no burials. Burials to Date (taken from stones, some difficult to read): HERBER, Lyla died February 7, 1893 aged 4 years HERBER, Maggie died 1895 aged (unreadable) (Maggie may have been the mother of Lyla & Robey.) HERBER, Robey died June 15, 1896 aged 7 years (The three HERBER buriels are listed on one stone. The stone is located in the SW corner of cemetery, within a wrought iron fence. The fence has no gate.) KEALEY, George W. died July 14, 1894 aged 4 mos. 20 days KEALEY, Jos. Patrick died July 14, 1894 aged 4 mos. 20 days sons of Thomas and Eliza Kealey "Not lost but gone before." KEALEY, Thomas died April 3, 1895 aged 55 years. (The KEALEY buriels are also listed on one stone.)
