Charles Russell Home
Although Charles H. Russell lived in the Collins Hotel for many years; for a short time, after he was married, and before he became Governor of Nevada, he lived in this house.
Russell served as Editor of the Ely Record newspaper for seventeen years, was a State Assemblyman for three sessions, a State Senator for two terms, a U. S. Representative for two terms, and Governor for two terms, beginning in 1951. He was the third Governor from Ely, all of whom were Editors of local newspapers.
