it has bin snowing all day the graound is whit as a sheat now.the most i hav sean since we left Anaplous last winter for Hallias (?) inlet I always think about our boys when I see it storming. I can think how it is in a hard storm for I have bin thare the army of the ptomac is moving slowly now and drive (?) the Rebs as they move Burnside and Segle are on the advanse to as good fighting generals as we hav got I hope the SeCesh (?) will git what they dissirve this winter I see in to days paper that Seymour is elected Governor of N.Y. by 11.900 majority. the Democrats are doing better in all most evry State this year than they did last the Republicans are all to war the boys say let the Soldiers vote and see if the Democrats will carry the day. thare is an advertizement up for Nurses to the Chestnut Hill Hospital they enlist them for one year they git 20 1/2 dollars a mounth and 42 dollars in money at the end of the year you will hav to go to Doctor Greanlief to enlist. his office is onthe corner of 16 and filbert Streat Phladelphia. I got my news from our new Ward Master our oldest Ward master has bin turned off sinc we got on the black list I hav not bin out sinc I last wrote you last Sunday we had inspection the stoves was some what dirty so the whole ward was put on the black list for 10 days none of us can not get a pafs to go out till we are taken off from the list our old Ward Master was turned off yesterday and the new one came he sed he exspected to go to the Chestnut Hill Hospital was transferd to this one you can do just as you chuse about coming but if you come down this way call and see me this hospital that I hav spoke of is about 6 (?) miles from this one you can get business of that kind all most eny whare now days.
