Dear Brother.

the 9. Army Corps is once more Happy. the 89.seams to be if the Corps is not. for we have got away from the Army of the Potomac. no one can tell what sufering thare has been and is now in the Army of the Potomac until they have been thare and seen what condition thet are in it is hopeful that we shall not have to join the Potomac Army agen for if I must speek the truth thet are badly demorelized. the troops do not appear to hav any courage attall. it seems more like home with the 89.now than it has before since I last joined them the men appear to have some life and ambition. since We got out of the mud,Webroke up Camp near Fredericksburg Saturday morning about Sunrise.marched to the Railroad got abord of the Cars at 3.oclock and went to Aquia Creek onloaded our Baggage onto the transport E. Lewis. and the 89 ditto about dark lay at Anchor ubtil after midnight. thenshe run up to Fort refermasease (?) and reported.then she came up here and we got off about fore oclock. and took up our Quarters in the Barracks mutch better Quarters than we have had for we are of from the ground. I know not how long we shal have to stay here I hope we shall not have to take a Pininelia (?) campaign but I presume that will be the result of our moveing it is very plesant to day. and the ground is dry.

Soldering seams more as it ust to. they tell us that Burnside is going to take Command of his old Corps. he is the man for us yet no more this time. good by. write ofton.
