L.D. Akard Truck driver, 76
L.D. "Lucky" Akard of Westminster, a long haul truck driver, died March 18 at St. Joseph Hospital. He was 76.
Services were Friday at Crown Hill Mortuary. Interment was in Crown Hill Cemetery.
He was born Oct. 23, 1921, in Cooper, Texas. He married Marjorie Gurley on Oct. 3, 1948, in Denver. He worked as a driver for ICX for 29 years.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Fred, Richard and Alan; three daughters, Shirley McClarney, Carie Parkin and April Lund; two sisters, Jean Talbert, Texas, and Ida Mae Dalton, Arkansas; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
