29 April 2001 Peoria Journal Star All B06 PEORIA - Lawrence S. Leavelle, 76, of Clinton, Mo., formerly of Peoria, died Friday, April 27, 2001, at Four Seasons Nursing Home in Sedalia, Mo. Born Dec. 29, 1924, in Red River County, Texas, to Robert Eugene and Edna Estelle Woolsey Leavelle, he married Pearl Sweeny. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Kirk of Wellington, Mo., and Kyle of Mapleton; five daughters, Susan Schlapper of Wellington, Theresa Geohn of Ben Franklin, Texas, Kim Coleman of Clinton, Mo., Vicki Blankenship of Brimfield and Connie Talley of Houston, Texas; one brother, James of Garland, Texas; 14 grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita; four brothers; and two grandchildren. He had worked for White Farm Equipment in Peoria. He later was vice president of sales and marketing for the United States at Versatile Farm Equipment in Winnipeg, Canada. He was a member of Clinton United Methodist Church in Clinton, Mo. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Vansant-Mills Funeral Chapel in Clinton, Mo., where family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight. Burial will be in Englewood Cemetery in Clinton, Mo. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
