Funeral services were from the St. Michael on the Hill Church, West St. Paul, for Frank Leguil, 71-year old highway contractor who died Jan. 20 in Canada. Interment was in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Mr. Legull was born April 17, 1892 at Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Louis and Kathryn Leguil. While still a small child, the family moved to a farm near Hadley and he attended school at Iona.

The family then moved to a farm three miles south of Lismore, where he lived until he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in France during World War I.

On discharge from the Army he returned to Adrian, where he entered the grain threshing and road building business in partnership with Jack Vanderah.

After Mr. Vanderah's death, he continued in the road building business until 1942, when he went into partnership with Jack and Judd Brown of Mankato, becoming one of the major contractors in construction of the Alcan highway through Canada. He later engaged in state highway construction.

Mr. Leguil was actively interested in politics, at one time serving as Nobles County DFL chairmanĀ He enjoyed the outdoors, spent much of his spare time hunting and fishing. Since 1952, he had made his home on the lake shore at Deer Creek.

A charitable man, he had donated an Adrian Main Street building to the American Legion and Auxiliary here shortly before his death.

He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Leo Wallrich, Adrian, and Mrs. Mary Reinert, Cherokee, Iowa, and one brother, Jack Leguil, West St. Paul. His parents preceded him in death, his mother in 1938, and his father in 1952.
