In loving memory of our mother, Bette Jane Bruns Schipper, 87 years old died November 16th in The Good Samaritan Home of Sioux Falls, S.D.

Bette was born December 7, 1926 in Vincennes, Indiana to John Nanke Bruns and Bertha Elizabeth Wayman Bruns. She grew up in the Worthington, Mn. Area. She married Herman Anton Schipper on June 22, 1951 in Worthington, Mn.

She was a graduate of Worthington High School and proud of the fact that she went back to school late in life to achieve this. She taught herself to sew and sewed her boys Sunday dress shirts. She enjoyed doing puzzles especially with the family during the winter. She loved cooking and also was an avid quilter as well as making quilts for others.

She was employed at Campbell Soup Company, managed the Schipper Trucking Company, worked at Micheal’s Steakhouse and also worked for the Tower Club in McAllen Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Nanke Bruns and Bertha Elizabeth Bruns as well as a son; Rodney Dee Schipper, granddaughter; Shelby Reiser, a sister Dorothy Engler and brother Robert Bruns.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington.

Visitation will also be an hour prior to the service at the church. The service will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the American Lutheran Church in Worthington with the Pastor Gary Andersen officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Worthington.

Memorials are preferred to the Compassionate Care Hospice in Sioux Falls, SD, 3415 N. Potsdam Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD 57104 or the American Lutheran Church in Worthington.
